Disability is not inability: students undertake a life-affirming project

SID Project A team of students from selected tertiary institutions in Ghana is embarking on a project intended to affect many lives positively and ultimately contribute significantly to societal development. The project, dubbed "Strength In Disability" (SID), is a joint effort of the Ghana Association of Disability and Rehabilitation Students (GADRES -KNUST) and other institutions which basically seeks to educate society on the relevance of Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs); and the fact that having a disability does not make you less human. "Ignorance has made many persons living with disabilities burdens, instead of being beneficial to the society. The primary purpose of the project is to influence society's viewpoint of PLWDs; to see them as people with special needs, who can do something to help themselves and the society at large. Morocco to award 20 scholarships to Ghanaian students

KNUST's College Of Engineering And Vodafone Organise CYGNUS Camp

Participants at the Camp As part  part of efforts aimed at encouraging female interest in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and increasing female enrolment in engineering, the College of Engineering (CoE) with support from Vodafone Ghana has organised the second Cygnus Engineering Summer Camp. The camp, which was instituted during the long vacation of the 2017/18 academic year, seeks to bring brilliant senior high school students together to stimulate intellectual discourse on science and technology. Participants would take a tour of engineering and science laboratories and benefit from the Vodafone Coding Clinic, hands on experience in engineering and science projects, mentoring sessions and project-based learning.
